Shipping & Handling

Where it goes, and how.

Last updated: April 25, 2026. JG ships works domestically and internationally with full insurance and proper handling. The notes below describe how that works.

Domestic Shipping (United States)

Most works under 48" ship via specialized fine-art carriers — primarily UOVO, Atelier 4, or Crozier — with white-glove delivery. Works over 48" or above $25,000 ship in custom-built crates. Standard transit is 5–10 business days from coast to coast.

Shipping costs vary by destination, dimensions, and required insurance. We provide a quote before charging. Local delivery within the Seattle and Salt Lake City metros is included on works above $5,000.

International Shipping

We ship to most countries via DHL Fine Art, Constantine, or comparable specialist freight handlers. Customs documentation, export paperwork, and import duties are coordinated through the carrier. Buyer is responsible for destination-country duties and taxes.

Allow 2–4 weeks for international transit including customs clearance. The gallery handles all paperwork; the buyer signs at delivery.

Crating

Works are packed by hand, condition-photographed before sealing, and crated in materials appropriate to medium and travel distance. Photographs and condition reports travel with the work and are retained by the gallery.

Crates over a certain dimension are built to museum standard with internal foam mounting and humidity buffering. We do not reuse low-grade packing.

Insurance

All shipments are insured for full sale value while in transit, included in the shipping fee. Coverage runs from the moment a work leaves the gallery until it is signed for at the delivery address. Damage claims are handled by the gallery directly with the carrier.

Pickup and Direct Hand-Off

Buyers may pick up work at either gallery location during open hours, or arrange direct hand-off at art fairs the gallery is exhibiting at. Local Seattle and Salt Lake City delivery by gallery vehicle is available for select works.

Tracking

A tracking number is sent the day a work ships. Specialty fine-art carriers provide milestone updates rather than continuous tracking — pickup, in-transit, out-for-delivery, delivered.

Receiving the Work

Inspect the crate exterior for damage before signing. If damage is visible, photograph it and note it on the carrier's paperwork. Once unpacked, check the work against the condition report shipped with it. Discrepancies must be reported within 7 days.
