JG Gives · Auction 01 · Bainbridge Island

Radical Optimism.
Actionable Hope.

Five works · Five artists · 30% to BAC

Every winning bid sends thirty percent to Bainbridge Arts & Crafts. Fifty percent to the artist. The gallery and platform together absorb the rest. The work is documented end-to-end on the same provenance system that ships with every JG acquisition.

The Beneficiary

Built by artists. Kept alive by community.

Bainbridge Arts & Crafts has been the working studio, the teaching room, and the gallery wall for this island since 1948. Seventy-six years of continuous operation. Every artist on JG's roster who lives here has shown there, taught there, or learned there — many of them all three.

BAC nearly closed in early 2025. The community brought it back. It is operating again, and it is still fragile. JG has been a supporter for the past two years; this is the structure that turns ongoing support into something an artwork can permanently carry on its own provenance record.

Highest bid at close wins. We email you the secure payment link. ACH preferred for over $5,000; cards for everything else.
03
Provenance Record
Within 24 hours: certificate of authenticity, full provenance chain, artist statement, and the digital identity that travels with the work permanently.

Common Questions

Mechanics & legalities.

What are bid increments?
$50 under $500. $100 between $500 and $1,500. $250 between $1,500 and $5,000. $500 over $5,000. The minimum next bid is shown on each lot when bidding opens.
What is the anti-snipe rule?
Any bid placed in the final five minutes extends the close of that specific lot by five minutes. The auction does not close until five minutes have passed without a new bid. This protects against last-second sniping.
When does the auction close?
May 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM PT, subject to the anti-snipe extension. We notify all bidders 48 hours, 24 hours, and one hour before close.
How is the donation receipt issued?
BAC issues the tax receipt directly to the winning bidder for the 30% donation portion of the settlement amount. JG provides the artwork receipt for the remaining portion. Both are emailed within seven days of settlement.
Can I bid from outside the United States?
Yes. International bidders are welcome. Shipping is white-glove, fully insured, and arranged at cost after the sale closes. International tax/import documentation handled by JG.
What if my bid does not meet the reserve?
The reserve is set at 80% of retail. If the high bid at close does not meet reserve, the work returns to the gallery and we offer the high bidder right of first refusal at reserve before re-listing.
Can I pay over time?
Yes — payment plans up to 90 days are available for winning bids over $1,000, no interest, secured against the work which ships once paid in full. Discuss at settlement.
